The European Court of Human Rights is an international court set up under the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and based in Strasbourg. Every year it receives thousands of applications, yet most are never examined on the merits because they fail the admissibility criteria.
In 2019 a group of advocates completed a long course under the Council of Europe’s HELP programme on how to apply to the Court and on the admissibility criteria. Those who completed it, including Amid Asgarov, received HELP certificates.
